The Halo Health Approach

V. Christopher Holbrook

At Halo, we believe true health can only be achieved when you treat the whole person: mind, body, and spirit.
That may sound obvious, but in practice, it rarely happens. Even the brightest practitioners in functional medicine, far ahead of traditional Western medicine, still tend to work in silos. One focuses on bloodwork, nutrition and physical health. Another on your mental health. Another on your fitness. And, if you need it, another whole team for emergecy or acute surgical care. Each doing their best, but not always working in harmony. And in those gaps, critical insights get missed.
The Frustration & The Opportunity
That’s been my greatest frustration in my own health journey. I saw world class caretakers, but I still struggled. The breakthrough came when I started weaving everything together myself, blood work, genomics, wearable data, neurotransmitter tests, cardio metabolic panels, and more. It wasn’t until I pulled these threads into one unified framework that I was able to find the answers. And, frankly, there is no way I could have pulled this off without the incredible computing power of AI.
We call it the Functional Medicine Trinity: mind, body, and spirit.
- Body → The physical foundation. Everything from lab work to nutrition, exercise, sleep, and recovery.
- Mind → Not just therapy or “positive thinking,” but a systematic approach to mental clarity, emotional regulation, resilience, and focus.
- Spirit → Anchoring yourself in something larger than you. For us at Halo, faith and the presence of God are central, but whatever your framework, spirit gives meaning and strength in a chaotic world.
When these three are aligned, healing happens. When one is neglected, the whole system falters.
This is why Just Live is more than a slogan, it’s a philosophy. To live fully, we must support the whole person, not just part of them.
Our Humble Beginnings
We’re starting in genomics because it’s one of the most powerful entry points. But Halo’s vision goes far beyond that. Our goal is to put the tools of mind–body–spirit health into your hands, empowering you to advocate for yourself and work with your care team from a position of strength and knowledge.
We also recognize that no single human (even the smartest ones!) can absorb and process all of this complexity. The future lies in combining AI + human wisdom. AI can process massive amounts of data, connect the dots across different systems, and surface insights. Then you, alongside your care team, can interpret and act on those insights. Together, human and machine, faith and science, data and spirit, we can finally practice true whole system medicine.
That’s Halo’s approach: mind, body, and spirit, working in harmony, powered by data, guided by faith.
1 Thessalonians 5:23 (ESV): “Now may the God of peace himself sanctify you completely, and may your whole spirit and soul and body be kept blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.”
